Professional Osteopathy in Syros

UK-trained, registered and insured osteopathic care delivered with clinical integrity.

What Is Osteopathy?

Osteopathy is a hands-on approach that focuses on how the body’s structure — including the spine, joints, muscles, fascia, and connective tissues — supports movement, balance, and overall function.

Rather than looking only at symptoms, osteopathy considers how mobility, posture, mechanical balance, and lifestyle demands influence the way the body moves, adapts, and responds to stress. Daily activities such as work, travel, sport, prolonged sitting, or repetitive movement can all affect how the body functions over time.

Treatment may include joint mobilisation, osteopathic manipulation, soft tissue techniques, myofascial work, trigger point therapy, and movement guidance. The aim is to improve mobility, reduce restriction, support structural balance, and encourage the body’s natural ability to regulate and recover.

In the United Kingdom, osteopathy is a regulated healthcare profession governed by the General Osteopathic Council, with structured academic and clinical training requirements.

You can learn more about osteopathy and professional standards on the official General Osteopathic Council website or on the Greek Panhellenic Osteopathic Association

Marcin Wojtaszek | Osteopath

My Training & Background

I graduated in Osteopathy with First Class Honours from the University of Derby and the College of Osteopaths in London.

My training included over 1,000 hours of supervised clinical practice at the College clinic in London, where I worked with a wide range of patients and musculoskeletal presentations. This included back and neck pain, postural issues, sports-related strain, pregnancy-related discomfort, long-standing pain patterns, mobility restrictions, and age-related stiffness.

Clinical education included:

  • Structured case history taking
  • Orthopaedic testing
  • Neurological examination
  • Movement assessment
  • Clinical reasoning
  • Treatment planning
  • Patient communication and safety
  • Hands-on osteopathic treatment

Before qualifying as an osteopath, I also developed extensive experience in hands-on manual therapy, including soft tissue techniques, myofascial work, sports injury support, and rehabilitation-focused treatment. This background now supports my osteopathic practice, particularly when working with muscle tension, movement restriction, overload, and recovery.

My current approach includes structural osteopathy, craniosacral osteopathy, visceral osteopathy, myofascial therapy, and trigger point therapy. Each session is adapted to the person in front of me, rather than following a fixed treatment routine.

After living in London for over 14 years, I relocated permanently to Syros and now provide professional mobile osteopathic care for residents and visitors across the island.

Professional Registration & Insurance

I am registered with the General Osteopathic Council in the United Kingdom and the Panhellenic Osteopathic Association in Greece.

General Osteopathic Council (UK) – GOsC No. 11682
Πανελλήνιος Σύλλογος Οστεοπαθητικής (Hellenic Osteopathic Association)- ΠΣΟ No. 16113

Maintaining registration with the General Osteopathic Council requires adherence to professional standards, ethical guidelines, and ongoing Continuing Professional Development. I am fully insured for professional practice.

Continuing professional development is an important part of safe and responsible healthcare. It helps ensure that clinical reasoning, assessment methods, patient care, and hands-on techniques remain current, professional, and evidence-informed.

Qualifications

My qualifications and professional training reflect a strong foundation in osteopathy, clinical assessment, manual therapy, and patient-centred care.

Additional Professional Training

In addition to my osteopathic degree, I have completed further training in manual and soft tissue approaches that complement osteopathic care.

• Soft Tissue Manipulation – College of Osteopaths, London
• Level 3 & 4 Sports Massage Therapy (Distinction) – iTEC, London
• Myofascial Release and Cupping Therapy
• Pregnancy-focused manual techniques

These areas of training support my work with musculoskeletal pain, movement restriction, postural tension, sports-related strain, pregnancy-related discomfort, and long-standing pain patterns.

They are integrated into osteopathic treatment where appropriate, rather than offered as separate massage services.

Marcin is a magician! I’m used to osteopaths in France and Marcin didn’t disappoint. He released all the knots in my neck&shoulders&back&hips and I felt much more mobile, loose and flexible after the first session. He really worked on the deep tissues to loosen up all the tensions and gave me some follow-up exercises to complement his work. I also go to his Qi Gong classes in Galissas that are very helpful too. Thank you so much Marcin. Maud Watson

Highly recommend Marcin; he’s very professional and informative. I’ve had lower back spasms for a long time and Marcin knows exactly what part of my back to work on and the spasms have already massively reduced. I will continue to book sessions with him. Thank you so much. He’s also very kind and friendly.

The best osteopath! Marcin was so friendly and professional. I had pain in my mid/lower back and was suffering a lot, but just one session and I felt immediately better. I was so happy with Marcin that I have already booked a second session. Highly recommend!
